Abundance Anow

Abundance Anow 80 x 140cm. This painting was part of a series that I painted based on images encapsulated in my memory from numerous trips by plane across Australia and to other parts of the world. The light in this one is on a meandering river and was reflecting gold as the sun was low in the sky. Late afternoon has always been my favourite time of the day as people and nature slow down and prepare for night. It is a time for assessing the day’s work and being with loved ones, it evokes, rest, calmness and a sublime melancholy all at once. I have used gold and silver foil on many of my water paintings as it reflects light.
