So for all of you who have always wanted to paint a Buddha, come along and learn how to apply gold leaf as well!

June 22nd – 21st July“The Wonder of a Tree” Artists over the ages have painted trees in many forms, using different palettes and techniques. We will look at some of these artists and their techniques to represent a tree. Eg. Impressionism. Students will learn how to draw and paint a tree and complete their own painting with one tree or a forest. Start looking at a tree’s trunk, leaves and branches!!

26th July – 25th August“The Body Fragmented” Starting with a live model, (in the first week) we will look at how to draw a human body. Students will be taught proportions and construction methods of the body. Then when a design has been reached, we will look at the cubist approach of how to fragment human form. Eg. Braque and Picasso. Students will complete a designed painting based on the human body.

6th September – 6th October –  “Falling Water” Students will look at ‘water falls’ and situations where water is cascading downwards. Techniques will be shown as to how to achieve the effect of falling water. At the completion of the course, a student will have a painting based on their own research or some studio stock references. This is a relaxing and meditative course!!
