Landscapes are my true love and they can become (and often do) a metaphor for life and living. I see Life and its many season’s human as well as nature, in the landscapes that I paint. They are consummate with my feelings and what is happening in the world around me. It is not what I see but the memory of what I have seen together with what I feel about that memory. Sometimes it is a conglomerate of different visual impressions that is pieced together and literally “evolves” as I am painting. The natural world is my citadel and the paintings are my expressions of love and deference to it.
